⭐️Kayhan: Well obviously a lot to figure out. brand new show for me so i’m trying to get my feet implanted in the Universe here. The show seems to be centered around an as of yet unnamed village, which has a “Mount Rushmore” type statue on a mountainside of the greatest ninja warriors, caled Hokages. the American influence is funny there. but also, there seems to be magic and the town is run by the warrior class of ninjas, who are also in charge of teaching and bringing up the youths, training them to be warriors and use jutsu (magic) skills… all right, here’s my breakdown of the first episode…

Storylines:
(1) Opening Sequence introduces the situation… the fourth Hokage sacrifices his life to save the village and trap the rampaging Nine Tailed Fox in a human body…

-Opening Video Package explains a momentous event that occured 9 years ago when a giant 9 tailed fox attacked the village. Ninjas, lead by the most powerful one, defended the village. The fourth Hokage, as he was known, defeated the creature, but lost his life in the process, and trapped the monster in a human body… scene cuts to a baby crying…

⭐️Kayhan: All right. a lot to unpack here. very important segment for a new viewer to set up the universe. there seems to be magic, greatly powerful warriors, villages, and powerful giant creatures. I liked the imagery of the nine tailed fox slamming large areas of land with its tail.
(2) We are introduced to the child, Naruto, who is the village trouble maker, and is at it again…

-The hokage is informed of Naruto’s mischief, and he is not surprised…
-Naruto is finally caught and dragged back to class by his sensei Iruka…

⭐️Kayhan: The mount rushmore of Hokages. funny. Ok. well. we are introduced to a couple things here. Naruto as a child, and the social structure of the village, which seems to be lead by the ninja warriors.
(3) Naruto mischief earns punishment not only for him but his schoolmates, which will obviously not make him a fan favorite…

(4) Most schoolmates are annoyed with Naruto, but one girl seems to have a crush on him…

(5) Sensei Iruka takes interest in Naruto…

-Iruka seems to have a soft spot for Naruto as he accompanies Naruto as he cleans the grafiti he was responsible for. Iruka offers to buy Naruto ramen when he’s done cleaning his grafiti.
-During the dinner, the Iruka tries to express the significance of the hokages and the disrespect Naruto’s vandalization signified, but naruto explains that he vandalized the statues because he is going to be the best Hokage. Iruka can not take Naruto seriously… But Naruto gets poignant about his life, saying, “he did it because he will be hokage so the townspeople will be forced to accept him.”

⭐️Kayhan: the look on his sensei’s face when Naruto said he was going to be the greatest ninja. 😆 This was the first moment where shit got real. That’s actually really sad that Naruto doesn’t feel accepted. no wonder the sensei kinda goes easy on him… funky trip that Naruto knows the story of the nine tailed fox and the fourth hokage, but doesn’t know it’s him…
(6) Naruto gets another chance to graduate, but fails again…

-Naruto takes another test (clone jutsu) and tries this time, but makes a bad looking clone. A lower sensei, Mizuki tries to convince Iruka to pass Naruto, since he almost pulled it off, but Iruka, who seems to be the one with the final word, fails Naruto, which pisses off Naruto …

⭐️Kayhan: well this is the first time hearing something about a secret. it’s not hard to tell, given the intro scene for the show, that Naruto is the nine tailed fox. But it seems like a tough impossible secret to keep…

⭐️Kayhan: Man Mizuki sure turned on the drop of a dime here. One second he’s telling Naruto that Iruka is only trying to help Naruto, then he betrays the town and sets off an awful chain of events… btw, the secret this time is not Naruto’s secret, but a scroll that Mizuki entices Naruto to steal so he can get his hands on them too
(10) Naruto has stolen the Scroll of Seals… Ninjas freak out!…
